A Note From Tim...

Tim-With-Horse.jpg

Dear friends of Maison Chance,

I hope you are well. Time goes by so fast.

The Maison Chance Center in Dak Nong is open and welcomed 120 beneficiaries since last September. The children, most of them with an ethnic minority background, have made significant progress. When they arrived at the center, the youngest ones couldn´t speak Vietnamese. Now they are able to have simple conversations and slowly understand their environment better. Disabled people who were in wheelchairs when they arrived started to walk without help, and children with a mental disability who almost didn’t speak can express themselves today.

The construction site is almost completed. We are about to finish the last buildings, which are five blocks on two floors. They will serve as accommodation. Furthermore, there will be eight guest rooms, a swimming pool, a locker room and internal roads and landscaping (tree planting). In about two months, all building construction will be completed so that this year we can welcome around 50 new beneficiaries in need. In the long-term, our structure will be able to support about 250 beneficiaries.

The opening of our new center in Dak Nong increased our operating costs, thus we decided to create the Maison Chance Social Enterprise at the beginning of the year. It formalizes and develops our commercial activities. In this way we hope to generate more funds to sustain the amount needed for covering our monthly expenses. Simultaneously, it ensures our annual budget. Your regular support is needed and appreciated here because without this precious help we couldn’t change the destiny of so many disadvantaged people.

From the bottom of my heart, I thank you for your generosity. Your solidarity gives a better future to a few hundred people in need. In their names, I send you my most grateful wishes.

HORSE THERAPY

New Beneficiaries

Beneficiaries are accepted at the Maison Chance Social Centers after a personal file assessment and interviews with social workers. Maison Chance evaluates their needs in terms of healthcare and education to establish a contract based on cooperation and willingness of each beneficiary. Below are just a few of our new beneficiaries.

Tran Thi Yen Nhi

Yen Nhi (23 years old) comes from an agricultural family. She had a cerebral paralysis which caused shrinkage of her legs and a weakness of her hands. She is in a wheelchair now and has pain when speaking.
