Greetings!

We've got some exciting news to share. The Maison Chance teams in Vietnam and here in the US have been busy at work these past couple years. Here's what we've been up to...

DAK NONG IS OPENED!

The new Maison Chance facility in Dak Nong province is now open! This center is unique in many regards. Situated on the countryside in one of the most impoverished highland provinces, this center is perhaps the most ambitious to date. It is staffed and equipped to support a large scale of beneficiaries with broad needs:

  • physically and/or mentally disabled children (orphans), adults and elderly,

  • a subset of the MC community that is aging and so severely disabled they are unable to live independently

  • poor children in the local Dak Nong province

Dak Nong center offers a wide range of services to its beneficiaries:

  • handicap-accessible housing

  • school and board for kids grades 1-5

  • special needs education

  • mental and physical health services

  • innovative physiotherapy such as aqua therapy and horse therapy

HORSE THERAPY

Help support the horse therapy program at the Maison Chance social center in Dak Nong. Among the many therapies provided to the beneficiaries at Dak Nong is horse therapy. Horse therapy will provide both physical and psychological benefits, and contact with horses will also help to promote emotional growth. Caring for and contact with horses has a calming effect and can provide emotional support. In fact, for one of the most hyper students, the horse therapy program has all but eliminated their aggressive behaviors. Horse-riding therapy is particularly applicable to patients with paralysis, to special needs children, or young people with serious behavior problems. "The horse is a good teacher, not only for the body but for the mind and the heart.”- Xenophon (Vth century BC).

It costs $570/month USD to maintain the 5 therapy horses at Dak Nong.

Help us sustain this program by ensuring these horses are well taken care of. The therapeutic support and benefits they provide to the children and adults at Dak Nong are invaluable.
